Paul is a 6th Dan Black belt and club coach. He started judo at the age of 6 and joined the club within the first few weeks of it opening. He is now our Chairman and heavily involved in the running of the club. He still competes occasionally and is three time British Masters champion as well as silver medalist at the 2012 Commonwealth Masters championships.



Ian is 3rd Dan Black belt and club coach. He started judo the very first week the club opened back in 1973 and has been active with the club ever since. He currently holds office as Club Treasurer. Ian has won medals at national level and is a former member of the British Masters squad.



Sam is a 3rd Dan Black belt and senior club coach. She started judo at the age of 11 and gained her black belt at 18. Sam competes regularly on the Masters circuit and won silver medals at the 2014 and 2015 World Veterans Championships as well as bronze in the 2017 Championships. She is the current European champion as well as the current Commonwealth champion and has been British champion multiple times throughout her career.



Ian is 6th Dan Black belt and senior club coach. Ian is one of the country's most decorated VI players winning World and European titles in a glittering career. Ian has competed in five Paralympic Games winning bronze in Atlanta in 1996 and silver in Athens in 2004.
Ian’s judo coaching is complemented by the fact he is a professional motivational speaker.



Paul is 3rd Dan black belt and club coach. He has been a member of the club since childhood and had a successful fighting career as a junior. He has recently returned to the competitive arena and won a silver medal at the 2014 British Masters championships. 


Laura started judo at Micklefield Judo Club aged 12. After a successful junior career she gained her black belt aged just 18. Laura regularly competes on the senior circuit and has recently joined the coaching staff after qualifying as a Level 2 coach.



Dan started his judo career at the age of 8 and has competed regularly ever since. He is currently a 1st Kyu and is working hard to achieve his black belt. Dan passed his Level 1 coaching award in early 2014 and enjoys passing on his knowledge to the younger members of the club.
